
The Raquda Foundation for Art and Heritage, in collaboration with M55 Projects, Athens and Greek Community in Alexandria , organized an interactive workshop titled “The City We Dream Of: A Journey Through Alexandria’s Past, Present, and Future”. The event aimed to explore the Greek presence in modern and contemporary Alexandria through field research, documentation, and participatory mapping.
The workshop took place from 11 to 15 April 2026 at the Raquda Foundation – Alexandria, followed by a final exhibition from 16 to 19 April 2026 at the Greek Community – Shatby, Alexandria. It brought together a selected group of 15 participants who were guided by experts including photographers, architects, heritage researchers, and cultural heritage specialists.

The initiative was designed to examine how sites associated with the Greek community have changed over time, and to explore the relationship between the city and its communities as part of Alexandria’s shared memory. Participants engaged in field exploration, site documentation, interviews with local residents, collection of visual materials, and the creation of interactive maps. The workshop concluded with an exhibition showcasing maps, short films, and documentation produced by the participants.
